Alex Foxen Ships Triton $75K Event for $1,26 Million

Alex Foxen just secured his fourth Triton Poker title and a $1,260,000 payday by dismantling the Triton Poker Series $75,000 Pot Limit Omaha event in Jeju. He navigated a 60-entry field of the world’s best. Alex Foxen started the final table as the chip leader and initiated a clinic in raw aggression, systematically crushing a final table that included Eelis Parssinen, Isaac Haxton, Laszlo Bujtas, Sean Rafael, Philip Sternheimer, and Paul Phua.

The Triton Jeju Carnage: Data-Backed Execution

The path to the final table was paved with variance and brutal cooler setups. Stephen Chidwick initially surged to the chip lead by crushing Jason Koon on the bubble. Stephen Chidwick flopped a pair and turned two pair with Q♦️9♣️6♥️4♥️, cracking the J♦️T♣️9♥️5♣️ missed wrap of Koon. However, Stephen Chidwick subsequently imploded against Gruffudd Jones. First, Gruffudd Jones spiked an ace and a jack with A♠️Q♣️J♠️3♠️ to beat the A♦️K♠️T♠️6♣️ of Stephen Chidwick. Shortly after, they collided on a volatile 5♥️9♣️7♣️ flop. Stephen Chidwick held A♣️5♠️5♦️3♣️ for bottom set and nut flush draw, and Gruffudd Jones held A♦️9♦️9♥️4♥️ for top set. A seven on the turn cemented a boat-over-boat cooler, sending Stephen Chidwick to the rail.

Lautaro Guerra busted soon after, forcing a lengthy stalemate. Eventually, Gruffudd Jones bled his stack down and shoved his final 18 blinds with A♣️A♥️8♦️2♣️. Alex Foxen called with K♠️K♦️J♦️2♦️ and spiked three diamonds on the board to eliminate Gruffudd Jones.

The defining hand of the tournament erupted early at the final table. Philip Sternheimer raised with T♥️T♣️4♥️4♠️, and Alex Foxen three-bet his A♣️5♣️Q♦️6♦️. The flop dropped 9♠️8♥️7♣️. Both players checked. The turn brought a 5♦️, prompting a bet from Philip Sternheimer, which Alex Foxen called. On the 2♣️ river, Philip Sternheimer turned his hand into a massive bluff and shoved. Alex Foxen correctly deduced the polarity of the situation, called the shove, and claimed 75% of the chips in play.

Alex Foxen then proceeded to vaporize the remaining field. He bullied Isaac Haxton off a pot pre-flop with pocket Kings, forcing Isaac Haxton to correctly fold A♣️K♦️Q♠️7♣️. He then eliminated Paul Phua in seventh place. Philip Sternheimer followed in sixth, getting his K♥️K♣️5♣️4♥️ all-in pre-flop against Laszlo Bujtas holding A♣️K♠️J♣️T♦️. On a 4♣️6♥️3♣️T♣️2♥️ board, both players made a flush, but the ace-high flush of Laszlo Bujtas reigned supreme.

The final string of eliminations was a masterclass in pre-flop dominance. Sean Rafael went broke in fifth with J♥️J♦️9♥️9♦️ against the A♠️A♥️J♣️7♠️ of Alex Foxen. On the very next hand, Laszlo Bujtas busted in fourth with Q♦️T♠️8♠️6♦️ against the A♠️K♥️4♦️3♥️ of Alex Foxen. Immediately following that, Isaac Haxton committed his stack with K♣️5♣️Q♠️4♠️, only to be eliminated in third by the Q♣️Q♥️6♦️7♣️ of Alex Foxen.

Heads-up!

Heads-up play was a mere formality. Alex Foxen held a 108 to 13 blind advantage over Eelis Parssinen. In the final hand, the A♥️9♦️8♥️6♠️ of Alex Foxen bested the J♠️T♣️2♥️2♣️ of Eelis Parssinen, crowning Alex Foxen the undisputed champion.
