How do you celebrate winning a major poker tournament for over $1.1 million? If you are Nino Pansier, you jump straight into the next High Roller and win that one too.
Believe it or not, but the Dutch pro closed out the Onyx High Roller Series by taking down the final event on the schedule: the $10,400 PLO Turbo.
This victory came just hours after Pansier was crowned the champion of the flagship $25,000 PLO Main Event, where he defeated a field of 199 entries to win $1,125,000. Refusing to call it a night, he hopped into the turbo finale, topped the 14-entry field, and secured another $62,200 to complete an incredible “same-day double.”

Déjà Vu: Pansier vs. Barakat Round 2
The final event of the series ($134,400 prize pool) wasn’t just notable for Pansier’s back-to-back performance. The heads-up match featured a familiar face: Youness Barakat.
Barakat had also been battling at the Main Event final table all day, eventually finishing in 3rd place for $483,000 just before the Turbo started. The two hottest players of the day found themselves face-to-face once again for the final trophy of the festival.
History repeated itself, with Pansier defeating the Italian pro heads-up to secure his second title in under 24 hours. Finnish PLO regular Aku Joentausta rounded out the podium in 3rd place.
The Perfect End to a High-Stakes Series
Pansier’s double victory was the fitting conclusion to a week of high-octane PLO action in Cyprus. The Onyx High Roller Series drew the world’s best four-card specialists and generated massive prize pools across the board.
From Quan Zhou’s bounty hunting victory to Gruffudd John Pugh-Jones taking down the $50k Finale, the series delivered on its promise of elite competition. Other standout winners included Cesar Garcia in the $50k Grand Slam, Mads Amot in the $25k Turbo, and Artur Vyborov in the $10k Opener.
But the headlines belong to Nino Pansier, who leaves Cyprus with two trophies, over $1.2 million in earnings, and one of the most memorable single-day performances in recent PLO history.
