Xixiang Luo earned his third WSOP bracelet in 12 months. The Chinese professional defeated 1,452 players in Event #24. The inaugural $1,500 WSOP PLO Double Board Bomb Pot event awarded him a cool $290,400 payday.

Xixiang Luo seems to be on fire. Last year, he won the WSOP $25,000 High Roller H.O.R.S.E. bracelet for $725,000 and last year’s $1,500 WSOP PLO Double Board Bomb Pot event for $270,000. His total live earnings have reached almost $5 million.

Xixiang Luo defeats Robert Klein to win Event #24

The final table featured multiple bracelet winners competing for the title. Luo outlasted 1,452 players to reach heads-up play against Robert Klein.

Key eliminations shaped the path to the final showdown:

Ian Matakis finished seventh for $40,410
Danny Wong earned $99,413 in fourth place after Klein’s backdoor straight
Samuel Stranak collected $137,805 for third place

Luo entered heads-up play with 21.8 million chips. Klein held 14.5 million. The two-hour battle saw stacks briefly equalize.

Luo’s strategy focused on accumulating small pots consistently. This approach gradually wore down Klein’s stack. Tournament observers noted Luo’s relentless pressure: “Luo seemed far too consistent at picking up the small pots, leaving Klein with no answer“.

The turning point came when Luo made quads. This hand gave him over 75% of the chips.

The final hand showcased the format’s complexity. Luo flopped a bigger flush on the top board. He also turned a straight on the bottom board. Klein couldn’t improve on either river card.

Klein earned $193,517 for second place. Luo claimed his third bracelet and the $290,400 first prize.

The double board bomb pot format demands exceptional adaptability. Players receive four cards and evaluate two separate community boards simultaneously. Luo’s mixed-game experience proved crucial in this chaotic variant.
