The €550 Pot Limit Omaha event at CAPT Seefeld delivers an unexpectedly international final table, ending with Finland’s Ville Stromberg denying Quirin Zech, who has recently won a WSOPC PLO Ring, the title in a heads-up duel.
PLO Action in the Alps
While the snow fell outside, the chips were flying inside Casino Seefeld yesterday, Tuesday, Feb 10, 2026. The €500 + €50 Pot Limit Omaha event drew a solid crowd of PLO enthusiasts looking to capture a title in the Austrian Alps.
A total of 77 entries (63 unique starters and 14 re-entries) generated a prize pool of €38,500. The structure with 50,000 starting chips and 25-minute levels provided plenty of room for manoeuvre, but ultimately, only the top 11 players would secure a return on their investment.
German Omaha Poker crusher Quirin Zech navigated the field expertly to reach the final heads-up battle but fell just short of the trophy, finishing as the runner-up for €6,910. The title went to Finland’s Ville Stromberg, who claimed the top prize of €10,700.

An Unexpectedly International Field
The Casinos Austria Poker Tour (CAPT) is traditionally a stronghold for DACH players (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), with local grinders dominating the payouts. However, Tuesday’s PLO event broke the mold, featuring a “United Nations of PLO” at the final table.
In a field often saturated with local talent, it was refreshing to see flags from Finland (Stromberg), the USA (Richard Geyer), Serbia (Daniel Primc), Italy (Re Del Mattone), and Great Britain (Danny Quartermaine) deep in the money. This international mix highlights Seefeld’s growing reputation as a destination stop for European PLO players, extending far beyond the German-speaking borders.
Final Table Recap & Payouts
The bubble burst when the field was whittled down to 11, with Valentin Schramm (Germany) taking the min-cash of €1,250.
As the final table progressed, notable bust-outs included Italy’s Re Del Mattone in 7th (€1,850) and Austria’s own Tadija Tadic in 4th (€3,700).
The three-handed battle saw the USA’s Richard Geyer bow out in 3rd place, taking home €4,930. This set the stage for the heads-up duel between Ville Stromberg and Quirin Zech. Despite Zech’s experience, the cards favored the Finn in the final showdown. Stromberg secured the victory and the five-figure score, leaving Zech with a respectable runner-up finish.
