Vincent Moscati Secures Both $100K Mystery Bounties
Vincent Moscati achieved what most players only dream about. He captured both $100,000 mystery bounty prizes in Event #86. The first six-figure bounty came shortly after 3 p.m. local time on Thursday.
His second bounty win stunned the poker community five hours later. Around 8 p.m., Moscati eliminated two opponents in a single hand. This secured the remaining $100,000 bounty still in play.
Moscati accomplished something unprecedented in the tournament. He also collected a standard $500 bounty from the same elimination hand.
Prior to this event, Moscati had accumulated $2.5 million in live tournament earnings. His previous largest cash was $157,929. He exceeded this figure through bounty prizes alone.
WSOP Event #86 Heads into Final Day with $329K Up for Grabs
The final day begins at noon on July 11. Twenty-nine players return to battle for the $329,890 first-place prize. Each remaining competitor has secured at least $10,940. Their focus centers on the champion’s share of the $3,064,720 prize pool.
Play resumes at Level 33. Blinds start at 150,000/300,000 with a big blind ante of 300,000. The tournament features 40-minute levels. Breaks occur after every three levels.
Notable players include bracelet winners Lawrence Brandt and Danny Wong. Brandt holds 7,900,000 chips. Wong sits with 1,900,000.
Remaining bounties total $36,000. One $10,000 bounty remains unclaimed. Two $5,000 bounties are still in play. A single $2,500 bounty awaits discovery. Twenty-seven $500 bounties remain.
Finland’s Eemil Tuominen claimed the final $25,000 bounty before Day 2 ended. His previous largest WSOP cash was $63,231 for fourth place in a 2022 PLO event. Tuominen accumulated 11 bounties during the day. He chose to run them all at once.
The payout structure creates substantial jumps between positions. Second place receives $219,890. Third place earns $164,090. Fourth place secures $123,380. Moving from positions 27-29 ($10,940) to positions 18-26 ($13,440) adds $2,500.
This year’s event exceeded the 2024 version. Sascha Wilhelm won last year’s tournament and $282,290 after defeating 4,283 entrants. The current champion will earn approximately $47,600 more than last year’s winner.
