Check out below how Luuk Botter, one of the head coaches at the Omaha Poker training site PLO Mastermind, is breaking down how preflop ranges shape your postflop strategy:
I was in a study session today, and a classic flop spot got me thinking: playing as the preflop raiser from Early Position against the Big Blind.
It’s a surprisingly interesting node because the ranges are at opposite extremes. Our EP range is tight and strong, while the BB’s calling range is wide and excluded from the very best hands, since they would have 3-bet these.
I wanted to get a better feel for the overall c-betting strategy here, not just on one or two specific flops, but on many.
To get a grip on the overall strategy for this spot, I used a new tool we just added to the PLO Trainer called Aggregated Reports, which shows you the optimal actions for all possible flops at once.
My first question was simple: “Across all available flops, what’s our average c-betting frequency as EP?”
I thought this was somewhere in the 60%+ range.
Turns out I was wrong. The report showed only 52%.
Much lower than I expected.
That’s a good baseline, but then I got curious. I asked myself, “How does that change on the boards we hit the best, like A-high flops?”
I just added a filter for “A-high,” and the answer popped up instantly: the c-betting frequency shoots up to a massive 76%!
On some of these boards, like AJJ twotoned or AK5 rainbow, we’re even supposed to bet our entire range.

The report also showed me where to be careful, confirming that on low, rainbow, connected flops, we have to play much more selectively. These boards don’t interact well with our tighter raising range, while they do with BB’s calling range. So we check a lot on these textures.
Next up, I decided to look into BTN vs BB, as this got me thinking. How much does this change when we switch positions and ranges?
I swapped the report to a BTN vs. BB scenario and it took me about 10 seconds to find the answer. On the exact same A-high flops, the c-betting frequency dropped all the way down to 52%.

This comparison instantly proves how our specific preflop range dramatically changes our postflop strategy.
Being able to ask these kinds of big picture questions and get an immediate, data-driven answer is going to make studying so much faster and more efficient. You can now discover in minutes what used to take hours of manual work.
Good luck guys,
Let’s crush it,
and let me know what you think about this new feature!
