For a mid-high stakes Pot Limit Omaha tournament, the field was sharp. As usual, there was a heavy Scandinavian representation, steady aggression, and very few soft spots. The final table had more Swedes than Italians, but when the dust settled, the Italian rail had the louder celebration.

In the heads-up match, he kept Ryynänen from building momentum and closed out the event with the biggest win of his career.
Two Italians in the top three also says a lot about the country’s recent growth in Omaha fields. Italy has produced strong NLHE players for years, but the PLO wave is clearly hitting as well.
