EPT Prague: Barakat, Dalessio, and Viezzi Take Down PLO Events

Ferdinando Dalessio

EPT Prague once again delivered for Omaha Poker players.
Across three very different PLO formats, we saw strong fields, real depth, and no soft paths to trophies.

From a €25K High Roller to mass-entry PLO and a classic PLO8 event, Prague showed why it still matters for live Omaha.

I’ll break down each event, then close with a short look at the winners.

WPT Trainer 1440x1080

Event 34: €25,000 PLO 6-Max High Roller

The €25K PLO High Roller ran on December 8–9, 2024.
It drew 29 total entries, including 10 re-entries, for a €688,750 prize pool.

This was a small field, but not a soft one.
These are the spots where every mistake costs real money.

Final table payouts were steep, and the pressure showed.

Event #34: €25K PLO 6-Max High Roller Payouts

POSNAMECOUNTRYPRIZE
1Youness BarakatUnited Kingdom€296,050
2Nino PansierNetherlands€186,000
3Martin DamDenmark€124,000
4Tomasz KrzesinskiPoland€82,700

Youness Barakat closed it out cleanly.
No drama. No marathon heads-up. Just efficient high-stakes PLO.

Pansier and Dam are not easy outs.
Beating both in a short-handed structure matters.

This win fits the current high-roller PLO trend.
Smaller fields. Higher precision. Fewer punts.

Event 39: €1,100 PLO Unlimited Re-Entry

The tone changed completely with Event 39.

This €1,100 PLO event ran December 9–10, 2025.
It attracted 258 entries, including 85 re-entries, creating a €247,680 prize pool.

Unlimited re-entry PLO is its own game.
You need patience, emotional control, and a stomach for variance.

The field mixed serious grinders with local players and travelers.
That creates swings you can’t avoid.

Event 45: €1,100 PLO8 Unlimited Re-Entry

Giancarlo Viezzi

PLO8 does not get enough respect.
EPT Prague proved it still belongs on major schedules.

Event 45 ran December 10, 2025.
It drew 116 entries, including 37 re-entries, for a €111,360 prize pool.

Good players still find edges in PLO8.

What These Three Events Tell Us

These events weren’t just random side tournaments. They show three important things about live Omaha right now:

  • First, high-stakes PLO remains skill-dense. Small fields do not mean easy money.
  • Second, re-entry PLO rewards endurance more than creativity. You survive first. You exploit later.
  • Third, PLO8 still filters weak players fast. That keeps the endgame honest.

Key Takeaways

  • The €25K PLO High Roller rewarded precision, not gambles
  • Re-entry PLO events continue to draw healthy European fields
  • PLO8 remains a skill-testing format at major tours
  • EPT Prague offers real value for serious Omaha players
