This time, it was Jordan Glazer who navigated the four-card chaos to conquer Event #4: the $5,100 PLO tournament, walking away with $84,000 and his second career PGT title.
Topping a tough field of 48 PLO specialists, Jordan Glazer secured his third cash and second final table appearance of the series. The single-day shootout generated a $240,000 prize pool, with the final seven players locking up a guaranteed payday of at least $9,600.
The Bubble: Aces Cracked by Jeremy Ausmus
In PLO, pocket Aces are only pretty until the flop hits. Dylan Linde learned this the hard way on the stone bubble. Nursing a short stack, Linde got his money in good with Aces, only to run into Jeremy Ausmus. In classic PLO fashion, the runout connected perfectly with Ausmus’s rundown, giving him two pair to send Linde to the rail in eighth place and burst the money bubble.
A stacked roster of notable pros took their shots but fell short of the cash, including series points leader Bruno Furth, Cary Katz, Sam Soverel, Chino Rheem, and Joao Simao.
Final Table Action: Coolers and Quads
Jordan Glazer entered the seven-handed final table second in chips, sitting just behind Jeremy Ausmus. In a game where chip leads can evaporate in a single orbit, Glazer played masterfully, picking his spots and maneuvering through major multi-way pots.
After Zachary Schwartz and Brevin Andreadis busted in seventh and sixth, respectively, the table witnessed a quintessential PLO nightmare. Jeremy Ausmus flopped a set of sixes and got the money in, only to discover he was crushed by LaDarren Banks‘ flopped set of jacks. The board bricked out, and Ausmus bowed out in fifth place for $19,200.
Following James Chen‘s exit in fourth, three-handed play became a war of attrition between Jordan Glazer, Banks, and Jason Funke. The deadlock finally broke in explosive fashion when Banks got his Aces cracked by Glazer, who flopped a set and turned quads to send Banks packing in third.
The Heads-Up Marathon
Heads-up play between Jordan Glazer and Jason Funke was an absolute rollercoaster. Lasting nearly two hours, the match saw the chip lead swing violently back and forth. Funke had Glazer on the ropes multiple times, but Glazer’s resilience shined through.
Catching heat at the perfect moment, Glazer won three consecutive all-in confrontations. On the final hand, Glazer limp-called a pot-sized bet preflop. The chips went in the middle on the A♦️K♥️3♠️.
